the ben putnam fire station was dedicated on oct. 29. 2023

One of Mayor Parrish’s vision for the Keene community was to name the fire station in honor of Ben Putnam, the first Fire Chief and Fire Marshall of Keene.

This dedication ceremony took place on October 29, 2023 on the late Ben Putnam’s birthday. Ben Putnam was born on Oct. 29, 1915 and passed away on Dec. 12, 2004. The event was attended by the Putnam family including Ben Putnam's son and daughter, as well as approximately 50 Keene staff and residents.
